a '57 Chevy running on melted-down Crystals records

My book is feminist because I am a feminist. I will/could never write a book that is not inherently feminist. I do not ever have to think to myself, how can I make this book feminist? It is my essence, and my work follows my essence.
My writing is many other things besides feminist.
I have always felt like I could accomplish anything men did. I have never felt held back, not for a second. It is only on me to write the best that I can. Whether it is taken seriously is another issue. But what I create is equal.

Jami has a list of thoughts about feminism and writing, many of which echo my own.  (via maura)

ditto, and thank you @maura for distilling the parts I was just about to quote
