The most facedesk thing about this is the revelation that this lame joke site is the THIRD “male version of Pinterest” to launch recently. It is to despair. Think about all the times women have had to adapt to an 80% male online thing, but then a social network gets big with an initial skew in the other direction and OH NO THEY ARE POSTING RECIPES this wrong must be righted forthwith.
Hey, so you know how I keep posting links to thoughts from people who can’t quite wrap their minds around this “racism” thing? Would it surprise you to learn they only came to appreciate Pinterest as a thing that the women in their lives could use to improve their lives?
Hey, given that the entire media-industrial complex has spent much of the last decade telling its consumers that the 18-to-34-year-old straight white male is the American Default Way Of Being, why shouldn’t that lesson be internalized by, well, everyone?
